Congratulations to the Fall Branch Volunteer Fire Department of Washington County, TN, on the recent delivery of their 2009 Spartan / 4 Guys pumper/tanker. This is the second custom 4 Guys truck for them in less than a year. It is built on a Metro Star series with a Cummins ISL 400 h.p. diesel engine. It has an Allison 3000 EVS transmission and an 18,000 front axle and 27,000 rear. It is a MFD 10” raised roof, six man cab with five SCBA seats. A 270 amp Leece Neville alternator and a Kussmaul 1200 charging system are included. It has a 21” extended front bumper with a covered compartment for a trash line. It has Alcoa aluminum wheels. Included are Retrac dual heated remote mirrors. It has a 50 degree cramp angle.
The pump is a Hale QFlo 1250 g.p.m. single stage side mounted panel. It has two Hale anodes installed in the pump. All valves are Akron 8000 heavy duty valves with a 10 year warranty. It has a 2 ½” gated suction on the left pump panel. It has two crosslay 1 ¾” discharges and one pre-connected 2 ½” trash line discharge reduced to 1 ½” on the front bumper. It has one left pump panel 2 ½” discharge and one right pump panel 2 ½” discharge and one left rear hose bed discharge. It also has a 3" pre-piped water way for a deck gun.
The water tank is a 1500 gallon UPF tank. It has water level gauges on the pump panel, on the rear and on each side of the cab. It has an electric activated 10” Newton stainless steel dump valve with a slide extension. It has a rear 2 ½” gated direct tank fill and a 2 ½” pump to tank fill. On the right side it carries a 2100 gallon Fol-Da-Tank in a stainless steel fold down portable tank rack.
The body is all 12 gauge 304 grade stainless steel and has 4 Guys famous 20 year warranty. It has seven large compartments. It has a total of two pull out trays, one divider and two shelves. Three compartments include poly board mounted to the back wall for easy mounting of appliances and equipment. It has wheel well storage for seven spare SCBA bottles. The 24’ and 14’ ladders are stored in the hose bed. The body is totally custom designed and built just for Fall Branch VFD. Its body includes six Whelen fixed scene lights and the two on the rear are tied to reverse. The upper and lower level emergency lights are Whelen LED's. It has a Code 3 electronic siren with dual speakers, dual air horns, and a Federal Q2B siren. It also includes a recessed Whelen LED arrow stick on the rear and a rear back- up camera system.
The 120/240 electric power is supplied by a 6 KW Harrison hydraulic genset. It is engaged with a hot shift Chelsea PTO. There are two 750 watt brow lights on the front of the cab and two 1500 watt FRC Focus push–up scene lights mounted to the back of the cab. There is a Haney electric cable reel located in the right pump panel with a lighted junction box and 200’ of 10/3 cable and electric rewind.
